| Educational Testing Service's Hand to Hand ASL Club sponsored their
first Deaf Awareness Week, September 22nd -26th. The club
arranged for speakers to present information on hearing loss, Deaf
Culture, K9 Service Dogs, and the Katzenbach School for the Deaf. The
members of the club sponsored a bake sale, a cookie sale, and a raffle
to benefit the Katzenbach School's Elementary School Playground fund.
On behalf of the Katzenbach students we thank the employees of ETS for
supporting this initiative.
Through their efforts, the club presented Katzenbach's Superintendent, Dennis Russell, a check for the amount of $3,261.59. We were delighted to be the recipient of an additional contribution from ETS' Corporate Headquarters for the amount of $5,000.00. We look forward to working with the club in the future to benefit New Jersey's Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing children. On behalf of the children at Katzenbach, we thank both the Hand to Hand Club and Ms. Eleanor V. Horne, Vice President and Corporate Secretary, for the very generous contributions to the Playground Fund. |
